A Law Firm for Today.

Locus Law was founded in 2018 as a law firm aimed to serve its clients better by leveraging modern technology. The law firm of the past, with mountains of paper, large offices, and marble floors, is not only unnecessary, it is costly for clients. Locus Law knew it could be done better. We have stayed lean, efficient, and service-centered; doing away with the high overhead and luxuries that cost you money. Through the use of new technologies, Locus Law is able to provide its clients with unprecedented access to their legal matters.

After a decade of serving my clients in one of Saskatchewan’s largest law firms, I decided it was time to make a legal practice in my own vision.  With the formation of Locus Law, I am striving to provide my clients high quality legal advice and guidance, at fair and transparent prices.

My legal experience is wide-ranging.  I have worked as in-house counsel to a multi-national corporation,  been involved in Court of Appeal proceedings, helped clients buy and sell mining operations,  been lead lawyer on multi-billion dollar international financing transactions and negotiated, and drafted international technology development agreements, among many other things.  Frankly, I’ve done it all (or close to it).  But my passion  has always been  intellectual property.   Hence the formation of Locus Law; Saskatoon’s first law firm with its main focus on intellectual property law.

In 2011, I became a registered trade-mark agent.  Since that time, assisting my clients to protect their brand has been the central focus of my practice.  I have prosecuted hundreds of trade-mark applications, successfully pursued infringement litigation, as well as represented my clients on the opponent and respondent side of trade-mark opposition proceedings before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. My experience with intellectual property does not end with trade-marks.  I have been involved with technology development, software development, patent protection, movie productions, musical, theatrical and photographic protection and licensing, to name just a few.

I formed Locus Law to be a full-service intellectual property law firm .  Of course, intellectual property and business are inextricably linked.  Therefore, Locus Law also offers a full range of corporate and commercial law services to ensure Locus Law’s clients are well served.

I look forward to being of service to you.
